I create collages
Arina Zhakina is a multidisciplinary artist and art historian based in Spain.
Working with collage, painting and mixed media, she combines colour, texture and unexpected imagery to create expressive visual compositions.
Inspired by nature, everyday life and human experiences, her work balances intuition, experimentation and playful imagination.
Art as a space for freedom
I see art as a space for freedom, curiosity and discovery.
I love experimenting with materials, colours and images, finding unexpected connections between seemingly unrelated elements. Collage is particularly fascinating to me: fragments of different stories come together to create something entirely new.
My work is inspired by nature, travel, everyday details and the world around me. I enjoy combining intuition with composition, allowing room for spontaneity, humour and surprise.
I don't seek to impose a single meaning on my work. I want viewers to bring their own stories and associations to it, to smile, to wonder or perhaps to see something familiar in a new way.
For me, art is both a creative adventure and a source of inspiration.
